How do I update my location for accurate prayer times?
Go to Settings → Location and either allow automatic location detection or manually search for your city. Prayer times are calculated based on your geographic coordinates, so keeping your location updated ensures accuracy.
Why do prayer times change daily?
Prayer times are based on the position of the sun, which changes throughout the year. Fajr begins at dawn, Dhuhr at solar noon, Asr in the afternoon, Maghrib at sunset, and Isha after twilight fades. These times shift gradually as the seasons change.
How does the Fajr alarm work?
The Fajr alarm uses a progressive wake-up system that gradually increases in volume over 30 seconds. You can customize the sound type (nature sounds, adhan, etc.), volume, vibration intensity, and set it to ring before Fajr time. The alarm requires you to complete steps to dismiss it, helping ensure you're fully awake.
Why isn't my Fajr alarm going off?
Check these settings: 1) Make sure notifications are enabled for the app in your device settings. 2) Ensure 'Do Not Disturb' is disabled or the app is allowed through. 3) Verify the Fajr alarm is enabled in Settings → Fajr Alarm. 4) On iOS, enable 'Critical Alerts' for important alarms.
Can I set the alarm before Fajr time?
Yes! You can set the alarm to ring 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes before Fajr begins. This gives you time to prepare for prayer. Go to Settings → Fajr Alarm → Alarm Offset to customize this.
How are prayer points calculated?
Points are based on: 1) Base points for completing a prayer. 2) Time bonus for praying early in the prayer window. 3) Streak multiplier for consecutive days. 4) Fajr bonus for completing the challenging morning prayer. Your total stars reflect your dedication and consistency.
When does my streak reset?
Your streak continues as long as you complete at least one prayer each day. The day resets at Fajr time in your local timezone. If you miss an entire day (from Fajr to the next Fajr) without logging a prayer, your streak will reset.
Why did I lose my streak?
Streaks reset if no prayers are logged between two consecutive Fajr times. Make sure you're logging at least one prayer per day. If you believe this is an error, check that your device's date/time settings are correct.
How do I create a family group?
Go to Settings → Family, then tap 'Create Family'. You'll receive a unique family code that you can share with family members. They can join by entering this code in their app under Settings → Family → Join Family.
Can I see my family members' prayer times?
Yes! The Family Leaderboard shows prayer completion status for all family members. You can see who has prayed, their streaks, and weekly progress. This feature encourages accountability while respecting privacy.
How many members can join a family?
Family groups can have up to 6 members on the free tier and up to 12 members with a Premium Family subscription. The family creator can remove members at any time.
How do I upgrade to Premium?
Tap on any Premium feature or go to Settings and look for the upgrade banner. Premium includes unlimited family members, advanced statistics, ad-free experience, and priority support. Subscriptions are handled through your App Store or Google Play account.
How do I restore my purchases?
Go to Settings → Support → Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account used for the original purchase. This will restore your Premium status if you had an active subscription.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will permanently remove all your data including prayer history, streaks, and family memberships. This action cannot be undone. You'll need to confirm your decision before deletion.
Why am I not receiving prayer notifications?
Check these settings: 1) Enable notifications in your device's Settings → Apps → HalalYouNeed. 2) Make sure individual prayer notifications are enabled in our app's Settings → Notifications. 3) Disable 'Do Not Disturb' or add our app as an exception. 4) Ensure location is accurate for correct prayer times.
Can I customize notification sounds?
Yes! You can choose different notification tones for prayer reminders and the Fajr alarm. Go to Settings → Notifications to customize sounds, and Settings → Fajr Alarm for the alarm-specific sound options including nature sounds, adhan, and more.
